Bellmore - One of Long Island's South Shore Gems
If you're considering a move to Long Island, Bellmore offers a blend of charm, vibrant local businesses, and easy access to parks, beaches, and New York City. Located on Long Island's South Shore in Nassau County, Bellmore is known for its welcoming downtown, scenic canals, and variety of recreational opportunities.
A Downtown That's Always Buzzing
One of Bellmore's standout features is its walkable downtown centered around Bedford Avenue and Merrick Road. You'll find an excellent mix of locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, fitness studios, and specialty stores. Whether you're grabbing your morning coffee, meeting friends for dinner, or enjoying a weekend stroll, downtown Bellmore offers something new to discover. Some of my personal favorites are:
Matteo's Bellmore is the Perfect place to take a crowd for Family Style Italian or for a Date Night
Pierogibites & More - I Love this specialty restaurant, especially when I want to pick up takeout appetizers for a party
Soul Brew Bellmore is my go-to for a Weekend morning coffee while walking my dog. They love our pets as much as we do.
McBride's is a local favorite for great pub food or catching a game with friends
Lunchbox Brewing Company serves up their own brews, has some local wines on tap and hosts local food trucks. Plus - they let you bring your pup!
Twisted Fork Brunch Company has become a Long Island Favorite for brunch with it's unique menu and mimosa flights.
International Delight Cafe is so good that my kids made up a song about it. You must try their homemade gelato and ice cream.
Avenue Social Kitchen & Cocktails is where I like to walk to for a glass of wine or dinner with my friends.
Throughout the year, seasonal events, sidewalk sales, and community celebrations help keep downtown lively. Our Chamber of Commerce makes all of this happen.
Easy Transportation Around Long Island and Beyond
The Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station provides direct service to Penn Station and Grand Central, making trips into Manhattan easy for work, entertainment, or a day in the city.
You can also access all of these major thoroughfares within minutes.

Enjoy the South Shore Lifestyle
One of Bellmore's unique features is its connection to the water. The community includes waterfront neighborhoods, marinas, canals, and boating opportunities that contribute to its distinct South Shore character. If you love boating, fishing, kayaking, or paddle-boarding - then Bellmore might be the perfect town for you.

Bellmore has so many parks nearby for enjoying the outdoors. Popular nearby destinations include:

Just Minutes from Jones Beach
Living in Bellmore means some of Long Island's most popular outdoor destinations are just a short drive away. Jones Beach State Park is approximately 15 minutes away with beaches on the bay side and the beach side, Concerts at the Jones Beach Theater, a Boardwalk and Biking paths, Fishing, and lots of special events all year long. Whether you're planning a beach day or attending a summer concert, it's an easy trip from Bellmore.
Year-Round Community Events
Bellmore hosts a variety of annual events that bring activity to the downtown area throughout the year, like Holiday celebrations, our popular Annual Street Fair, and Block Parties with Outdoor concerts. The town is well known for it's Friday Night Car Shows sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce, running April through October. These events help create a lively atmosphere while supporting local businesses.
Is Bellmore the Right Fit for You?
Every homebuyer has different priorities, and finding the right community starts with exploring it firsthand. Spend some time walking through downtown, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, visit nearby parks, and explore the waterfront. Bellmore offers a unique combination of convenience, recreation, and South Shore charm that's worth experiencing for yourself.
One of my favorite things about living here is that we can walk to see a movie, grab some ice cream or coffee, or for a night out. We can have fun close to home, run into our neighbors, and enjoy the community we live in.
